Pet First Aid & CPR Classes with House of Paws

When emergencies happen, being prepared makes all the difference.

Our Pet First Aid & CPR classes are designed to give you the confidence and skills to handle unexpected situations with calm and care—because our pets deserve nothing less.

What You’ll Learn

This hands-on course covers real-life scenarios and essential skills, including:

  • Handling choking, bleeding, or shock

  • Treating burns, bites, stings, and more

  • Recognizing signs of heatstroke and poisoning

  • Building a pet first aid kit​

  • What to do before you can get to the vet

Knowing how to act quickly and effectively can save your pet's life or prevent a minor issue from becoming a major emergency.

Plus, let’s be real: learning pet CPR is basically becoming a superhero in your dog or cat’s eyes!

What's included:

Taught by Certified Pet First Aid & CPR Instructor, Maris Miller-Sonnabend, you’ll leave with a certificate of completion, good for 2 years, a Quick Reference Guide, some tools to practice with during class and a whole lot of peace of mind.

Duration:

Approximately 3-4 hours

What to bring:

To make the most of your class experience, we recommend you bring:

  • A notebook and pen (for those “aha!” moments)

  • Water bottle (hydration is key—for you and your pet!)

  • A stuffed animal that stands on 4 legs to practice bandaging & CPR manuvers

  • Yourself – no need to bring your actual pet! This class is human-only for safety and focus.
